Exhibition Opening

On April 2nd 2014 we opened the doors to The Colour Series, print exhibition in London, UK. This event was very special, because not only was this our debut exhibition at S&H, but it was funded almost entirely by our friends, family & S&H fans. For a first exhibition, that’s pretty special.

We decided to have our opening party & live drawing event together on the first Thursday of the month (which if you’re a Londoner, you’ll know that means ART PARTY THURSDAY’S YEAH!) – We invited 5 of our kick-ass UK based illustrators to come down for the night get involved by creating a follow up piece to their S&H Colour Series screen print on a canvas, live. The artists used only paint and Posca pens (maybe a few pencil’s) and had about 5 hours to complete their piece, surrounded by beer, friends, and curious art folk! – Quite the task! But as always, these guys were the best; super pro, super awesome and worked harder than anyone should really have to on an opening night! Luckily for us though, they did, and what incredible pieces they created for us:

Dan Mumford – Omen

William Exley – Escaper

Tom J Newell – Don’t Fear The Reaper

Mr Gauky – Durant’s Demise

Iain Macarthur – Untitled

The pieces are incredible not just because they show how talented the artists are (and how well they can handle intense pressure), but because you can feel the authenticity of each piece. Each canvas was created on the night, and will not be duplicated. These are original, one of a kind canvas paintings that, once sold, will be gone for good! Each canvas is on sale in our store for £200 and the extra for shipping a canvas has been included in the price – please make sure to select the correct country when purchasing your item.) If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch. info (at) skullandheart (dot) co (dot) uk

Please do note that as the canvases were created in a live drawing environment they will have slight marks (pencil, finger marks, etc.) which is expected for this type of piece.

You may have also noticed that whilst the night was going on, we were filming the whole event –  The video will be released in a week or so, and we’re pretty excited to see it. For all those people that could not be there on the night, this video is for you, to say thank you for all your support and to give you the feeling that you were there hanging out with us!

Take a peek at some of the ‘behind the scene’s’ photos from the night as well as a few from the event. Check out our Facebook page for more photos and we’ll update you soon with the event video.

Thank you again to everyone who helped out in any way possible.
